Commissioned and distributed to member stations by National Public Radio in 1999-2000, 2000^x is an unprecedented audio celebration of the new century in the form of 40 plays speculating on possible tomorrows. The line-up includes the classic robot drama R.U.R., an original radio play by the Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, and adaptations of stories by masters such as Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Ursula K. LeGuin, and many others. Sci-fi meister Harlan Ellison hosts.
